I get the feeling that they're trying to write the relationship "well" this time. her first point of attachment to us is that she wanted to have a junior disciple, and the first meeting is almost nothing. so it's a slow burn and it seems logical, meanwhile some past relationships like Astra and Seed were instant infatuation for really dumb reasons.
