That's the tiny wire of his earpiece getting blown back because the shot came from the front. You can see the mic for the earpiece on his t-shirt. If the shot came from the back then why did the t-shirt blow up before the earpiece wire?

Take a look at the ears. Especially the ridge near the ear drum (drew it in blue for the guy) it's pronounced, deep and is like this: < (drew it in blue). Whereas this chink doesn't have that it's a very soft, barely noticeable depression and not the same shape.
