Is Sunhelm's default settings good enough, or should I lower the decay rate of hunger/thirst/sleep?

I want to keep the widgets hidden mostly so I can just play the game organically without constantly thinking about managing it, or else it takes away from the immersion and turns it into a tedious micromanaging activity - but I also don't want these needs deteriorating so quickly that it forces me to constantly check. Has anyone here found a sweet spot in terms of settings?
