OK so I've wanted to get into (playing) Warhammer for a long time and I've settled on Eldar as my first army. I've been told they aren't a great starting army because they're trickier to play than other armies, but I'm set. I like space elfs. I bought the Combat Patrol and a bunch of second hand models, I've got about 1,000 points so far. Mostly built but still need a bit of priming and then actually painting. (won't be a problem, I like painting and I went heavy on Aspect Warriors both to continue the theme of the Combat Patrol and so I won't get bored painting 30 Guardians or whatever)
I also really like Harlequins. And when I heard that they were getting a Combat Patrol I was like, great, after I have some experience with my Aspect-heavy Eldar army I'll be able to start integrating some clown elfs into my army.
But then I saw that it's a FOMO box. And it's giving me FOMO. I preordered one box at my LGS, mostly just to have it for the future. But now I'm thinking that if I get a second box, that'll be it, I'll have 2,000 points of Eldar. And that'll probably be the cheapest way to get there too.
How bad of an idea is it for my first 2,000 point 40k army, the thing I use to play my first tabletop war games ever, to be half Craftworld and half Harlequins?
