Memes aside, I'll give walrus a pass, because he was the first and he didn't offensively fuck with the setting. Yes, he did get two partners, but immediately lost one, and had to put him down, actually had consequences for him (Drama CD implies Chocomon didn't hatch or took forever at least), and he didn't feel like he was stealing the spotlight. It was his story, but Daisuke was also heavily involved, actively helped and was on the forefront, so it felt more like the main theme was the summer trip.
