The problem with season 1 is that it only had 12 episodes, and it’s been three years since the continuation. Compare that to Spy x Family or Dandadan, where very little time has passed between seasons. Chainsaw Man lost its momentum, and now no one cares anymore.

As much as /a/ likes to complain, if anime truly becomes mainstream, the “normalization” of it is inevitable. Studios and mangakas would rather prioritize pleasing the overwhelming majority of its “fans” (normalfags, basically) rather than a small percentage of its otaku fanbase. Basically, this means no excessive fanservice, no overly sexualized teenagers, and no loli content. You might joke about it, but it’s really not such a far-fetched scenario.
