glass would be better but they are heavy and harder to clean, but at 9%-14%ABV i don't think i'll be getting to much of a leaching problem since it only ferments for 2 weeks in the plastic, but ture not ideal.

Its hit or miss but not anywhere as bad as it sounds, this was a rasin, sugar cane juice, vanilla bean and cinnimon sticks.
i sure there is some European name for it but its more of a sparkling spiced fruit wine made with whatever is on hand.

it gets filtered and aged, im not drinking it prison wine style (anymore)
