I have a dilemma, anons.
I used to run with a simple Nike Downshifter. It was time to buy a new pair, and I've saved up some cash so I thought I could buy something more expensive. My uncle has like 10 Hoka shoes and swore everything else is pure shit. I went to a store which specializes in selling running shoes, and they even let you run a treadmill plus they monitor your feet with cameras. They told me my ankles are heavily leaning inwards so I should run in something which stabilizes that. However all the Hoka models with stabilizers were poking my heels in a weird way. It wasn't painful, just weird. I tried out other brands, too, and finally settled with an Asics GT-1000. It felt the most natural on the sole and still stabilized my ankle according to the guys at the store.
I still have to do my usual run in them to see how they ultimately perform, but I wonder what you think. Is it still a good brand? Or would the Hoka have been a better choice in the long "run"? Am I just having buyer's remorse?
