This. They do shit like that all the time and decide what they want and what they're willing to give up. I stopped going to a LOT of places when they started implementing stupid policies and changing shit. I wrote letters and told them my complaints in person and it changed nothing. If enough people care things will change, but most people do not care. They don't mind their data being taken and used against them. They just see the short term gain. They see the "free" social media or the discounted burgers. They ignore any possible future ramifications.
But they also probably bitch about the spam emails they get or wonder how their phone knows shit that it shouldn't. They don't make the connection or they simply live with it. For the cheaper garbage burgers they get.
