Im married at 35. I make ~200k a year, and my wife makes ~120k. I have 3 kids, and we live in her grandfathers old farmhouse. He gave it to us after he became unable to live alone any longer due to mobility issues. 5br2ba, no mortgage, and I can't even see the nearest neighbors' house. We replanted a lot of the farmland with trees so the ~130 acres of old corn fields is filling in with woods. It costs us like 30k in expenses per year. My wife worked part time until the kids were old enough for school and her mom, retired, stayed with me and helped on the days she worked. I WFH full time and also raise honey bees. I trade the honey to my two neighbors for fresh milk and eggs. Honestly considering having one last kid before she gets too old, I'm 5 years older than my wife.
Every day I wake up is better than the last. I grew up in a family in poverty on welfare, and now I'll be retired by 50.
