Lol one of the most clear and fond memories I have of online play from that era involves some rando having this big long-winded meltdown over the chat after fucking up his grand ninja rope-based maneuver and getting his last worm killed, somehow blaming everybody else and some sort of cheat tool-aided conspiracy.

The fact that local multiplayer is always more fun than online play is generally true for any game that supports both though.
