These things are mutually exclusive. Zelensky can be both illegitimate, and a warmonger who doesn't want peace. In fact, not only are these things not mutually exclusive, they're mutually supportive if anything. Why? Because Zelensky's personal survival depends on this war continuing. He has no interest in it ending, because the moment it does he will either have to flee the country or he will likely get killed by someone. The only way he can remain in Ukraine and be safe is he holds onto power and has the Ukrainian security apparatus dedicated to protecting him. The moment he loses power, he loses that protection, and he's cooked. That's why he doesn't want this war to end.
