True, but people on the internet also vastly overestimate just how popular a game needs to be to be "alive". People throw the dead or discord fighter label around the second a game drops below 1k players on steamcharts, but anybody who actually plays fightan can tell you that you can still find matches almost instantly in many of those "dead" games.
That thinking is how come you end up with all those posts about how SF6 is the only fighting game you can play, because some people genuinely think that any fighting game that isn't mainstream posting 10k+ players 24/7 is only filled with 1000+ hour sweat warriors that will quadruple perfect you and then make fun of your little dick.

If the amount of people who whined about strive being the way it is or at the very least agree with all those posts on it on or off this site(thousands liking posts shitting on it or whatnot) either
A. Bought and played Xrd when each version of it released or when it got rollback
B. Bought and played +R enough that it's playerbase rivaled strive when it got rollback.
Strive wouldn't exist or at the very least arcsys wouldn't think the amount of people that actually want games like Xrd and +R instead of games like Strive and Granblue are nothing but a loud minority not worth listening to.
