Outside of his Tokyo SOS and its sequel, Kiryu is treated more like Mechagodzilla 2. They simply use the Kiryu design because it's super awesome.

If we assume the beams are similar to the missiles they could fire (cadmium stuff), the temperatures should be ~4 K. Still, it's rather frustrating to not have anything exact.
