My 93 year old grandfather is on hospice. He's lucid, just sick. He's had a pretty rough life and has always been a depressed person.

>Physically, emotionally, and sexually abused starting from age 4
>Lost a leg and hand in the Korean War
>In 1960 his hand wound got infected; the entire arm had to be amputated and he went blind in one eye
>In 1968 his first wife, who he loved more than anything, died of a sudden heart attack despite only being 30 and he became a single father to three little kids
>A few years later he married a gold digger; he divorced her in the 80s after she tried to hire someone to kill him for his money
>His three kids died in 1991 I think when they got in a car crash on a road trip

I think the 1991 death of his three children was his last major trauma, but even after 34 years of easy living he's always been morose. Is there anything I can do for him? Like talk him through all his negative feelings like a therapist or something? It's really sad to be depressed and bitter your entire life. I want him to find peace at least at the end.
