There have been major changes in societies because of industrialization, urbanization, business and just economics really. Japan is a different place than it was 100 years ago. Before World War II, nearly half the population there made their living from farming. In Germany it wasn't much lower.
Rightists tend to idealize the past, and in the past the relations between the sexes were different, and a big part of that was the agricultural society. Actually restoring that is utopian because it doesn't make sense to have half the population tied down in labor-intensive farming when you can have 1% produce vastly more food with machinery, but what right-wing parties do is find ways to accomodate themselves to the new situation they find themselves in.
