If Filmation had survived long enough to make the He-Man sequel that became Jetlag's New Adventures of He-Man, would the family Skeletor was reunited with have been so memorably bizarre that "The Search for Keldor" wouldn't have been dug up as his backstory for every cartoon and comic?

Since "Skeletor used to be King Randor's brother Keldor" was first floated in a 1987 mini-comic, no one at Filmation became aware of it and continued working with "interdimensional demon".
