online multiplayer games are being ruined by cheating. Truth is, cheating is a big business now. Zoomers cheat for a lot of petty and selfish reasons
>ego
>attention
>malicious trolling and personal enjoyment (they're little sociopaths)
>clout/infamy
>money from streaming, tournies/competitive, and donations
and so cheat software devs will keep making cheat software and sell to these faggots because it's profitable. If game devs put more aggressive anticheat in their games, cheat devs will simply one-up their effort with more clever cheats. It's an arms race and cheat devs are winning. But honestly, they'll always win. anti-cheat is ultimately just a deterrent, because you can't make software that is un-influenceable from the host's PC.

I will always tell people that the ONLY way to counteract cheaters entirely is with active game moderation. Companies won't do that though since it costs them too much money to actually moderate their own online service and they are cheap as fuck. That's a reason why spectate needs to be brought back in casual too btw.
