They take disgruntled youths in shitty families who are guaranteed to have a limited scope of morality (never treated like a being capable of suffering = doesn't understand what's that like or how to do that). Being abused by your parents is a freebie ticket to getting raped by big pharma since you aren't a citizen of the USA and are instead legally property, so you are subjected to whoever says what. They keep track of all of these guys based on their online activity and start pushing buttons. SSRIs reduce the capacity for empathy as well as feeling at all, basically exactly what uncle Ted was talking about when treating the symptoms and not the cause, but it also has a bonus utility.
All of these shooters nowadays don't even go after their peer group or anything, they go after a batch of unrelated kids they never met that were in the same school they grew up in at best.
