Playstation's not going to trade the American market for the Japanese market. Even Nintendo's biggest market is America. But I could see a potential PS6 handheld could do better in Japan than a home console PS6. Japan seems to prefer handhelds to home consoles.

Sony doesn't have to sell the PS6 at a loss. It just has to sell it as small or even tiny profit. Or at cost. So, you can have an aggressively priced consoles, a moderately priced console, or a greedily priced console.

The PS5 moderately priced. The PS5 Pro was greedy. The PS5 was starting the current generation and was aiming at 100M units. The PS5 Pro was a mid-gen upgrade aiming at only 10-15M units. I'm not bothered that Sony was being greedy with the PS5 Pro. I think people who bought it are idiots with too much money. But the start of a new generation is a one time deal. If Playstation is greedy with the base PS6/Handheld, it could get very bad, very quickly for Playstation.

I don't think the dock part of the Switches cost much. Not that I think it will or won't come with a dock. I honestly forgot about the dock part of the Switches.
