I'm actually fine with Lucifer not being a nice character. He is the devil, after all. He can be prideful and selfish and everything else, it makes sense. But he is the one who refuses to take responsibility for what he did, and for the current state of Hell. I think a lot of fans latch onto his depression because it's something they can 'relate' to, When actually, he's a powerful fallen angel who has ruled Hell for thousands of years and not a sad 15 year old on tumblr.

It's an interesting contrast with Alastor because he actually seems to be sincere when he talks about becoming fond of the other hotel residents, however much he doesn't want to.
