Don't think they tried hard enough. If Dejah Thoris would wear her canonical outfit in the Disney show, you would get far more teenager and young man audience for the show. Disney still fails to understand that if you want the boy and teen boy audience in some areas you have to play little less safe and stop worrying about pleasing everyone.
