You should drop into the mega nest/fortress.
With the mega nest you can see the bt hole from the air and either crush it with your spawn pod or get into position to nuke it ASAP. With the fortress the defensive battlements are arrayed facing outwards. It is easier to pick it apart from within than to fight your way up its slopes.
