People need to stop discussing Embiid hypotheticals as merely unlikely. At this point they're pure fantasy. He's not some otherwise sturdy individual who had a setback for some random reason and can come back mostly like he was before if everything goes right. He's a structurally unsound athlete whose injuries are just inevitable manifestations of his body's inability to deal with the requirements of his job.
If Joel Embiid plays basketball for any extended period of time some part of his body will simply break down. He's not going to get better. Every time he gets hurt he comes back it affects his weight and conditioning and as he gets heavier and more out of shape he's just more prone to get injured. 7 foot tall, 350 pound men who already have bad knees and bad backs don't get healthier as they age. It's over. It is so fucking over. I don't want to hear ay more of this "if the Sixers can stay healthy" bullshit. Might as well talk about Kobe making a comeback because it's just as likely.
