This came to me while I was thinking about bombers, but I think it would be kinda kino if they added a mission where you and your squad pilot a bomber and you have to go around a map bombing different targets(e.g., a massive mega nest kilometers or miles long, bot factories where they produce stuff such as fabs, striders, mega units(lol)).
You'd have an entirely different set of stratagems focused on AA, since each faction will send shit out to murder or inconvenience you. For example, calling in an eagle AA to take care of shriekers or a buffed version of shriekers, or having to input a code to clear any spores/interference that block the bomber's view. Also, rather than call down sentries, you input codes to manufacture them onboard and one can choose where to send them off, be it starboard, port, aft, or the bow. Same thing would apply to blue stratagems, where they're made on board, though I'm having trouble with what special blue strats could be brought on a bomber.
While the pilot does his thing piloting, another guy has to drop and aim the bombs, and the other two man turrets or use AT weapons to protect the craft from lil shits. In the case of squids, maybe something similar to xcom except you pilot the interceptor and shoot down ufos and everyone pilots a separate craft. I realize this is all kinda silly and unrealistic due to the state of the game, but atp there ain't much to grasp onto 4 now(or ever really).
