The pacing was glacial, the constant flashbacks were annoying, we were spared from actual interesting character development by Dante ex Machina vision automatically resolving the issue between Lin Daiyu and Hong Lu, all the while we had to play "enable the indecisive" and watch as Hong Lu never actually did anything on his own and had to be carried by Jia Qiu.
