One thing that we need to realize is that most people don't really care for endgame in these games. They follow the ongoing story, pull for characters they like and use them for a bit. People like us who care about meta relevance and endgame power-creep are in minority.
And yeah, while I do kind of like Currency Wars... It really won't be affecting profits of the game. Like look at this team, most of it is Trial characters, with Cipher doing insane numbers. No matter how you slice it, that is funny.
To me it doesn't help that there's absolutely no lore in CW. I'm one of those lunatics who actually likes Divergent Universe, since I actually get to use my own characters, and there's some writing and lore involved with the whole thing.
But yes, HSR is in comfortable spot right now for lots of people. They can treat it as an ongoing story which gets regular updates. Would I like it if there were some changes? Yeah, but it is one of the more comfy live service games to play.

As a somewhat new player to Genshin (been at it for half an year) it really is insane how much content there is... Sometimes even too much. I couldn't really explore in peace without coming across some side quest which game kidnapped me to do.

Yeah... I do hope that next planet not be as Shakespearian. I did like Amphoreus cast, but they really could have had more chill. Scenes with Cipher, Phainon and Anaxa were great since they spoke like regular people, so clearly writers can handle variety of dialog.
