Completely disagree. Momoko, Iku, Mai, Kaoru, Chika, Miria, and Yukimi all display above-average knowledge, skills, and self-control for not even being 12sai yet. Nina is developmentally neglected and barely understands basic Japanese grammar, yet she can remember the entire choreo.
With the 9 and 10sai we're talking about 3rd and 4th graders, not exactly the smartest or most in-control age group of kids. And they aren't more mature or smarter because they're Japanese, though they probably have more self-control because their mom is scary.
You can't assume they are dumb kids just because some people who claim to like them didn't read the commus/manga. Momoko isn't even really best described as precocious if you know her backstory, she doesn't get to make the choices or have the positive reinforcement that Arisu has. She's literally jaded at times. If anything, I think staff sometimes fails to write their dialogue as if actual kids were talking. All of the idols I listed above have a tendency of being used in commus/manga as generic members of a conversation occasionally, wherein they say generic things any idol could say, except it's not something a kid would ever say.
