You can see pretty clearly here there's a massive difference, between Boltsin and "normal" casters for single target dps.
They're legitimately crazy powerful! Even if the example was something with a high elemental weakness the wizard could exploit, they would still fall short.

...Interestingly, SuNo actually manages to tie with Wizard, which is spamming not just a higher damage spell, but one without cast delay.
I forgot to screenshot gear+ stats, but both have instant cast and are using generic setups that benefit neither spell.

Despite being defense spec, the Ranker is still doing more than TRIPLE the damage of the Linker.
You can argue Linker isn't supposed to melee and shouldn't be compared to Ranker, but I think it's fun.

Dual Dagger isn't too far away, but is far, far squishier, and needs absolutely insane investment.
Sadly in a server without EDP, the Assassin simply can't compete.

The Holy Cross Crusader actually beats the ranker by a large margin.
But this is also using a two handed spear, so not only does it have less defense, but it's also lacking a shield rune.
Also note that Holy Cross does do a bit more damage than a Bash with a holy weapon would do.
So the target being a Frus is skewing this a bit.
