Without going all out with race and size cards, what are some strong and/or fun weapons for SuNo to use on Ragnav?
I've been using a Platinum Shotel for a long time when it comes to melee and it's been fun, but I wonder what else I can use.
Are Elemental Swords still any good? I think autocasting weapons are super fun, but I'm not sure if it would end up being a big downgrade in damage.

I actually had to mess with this to get it to work on my laptop.
After excluding the ccro file from windows defender I went and first changed my resoltion in the settings to 1920x1080 and checked full screen.
Afterwards I right clicked the client exe and set the client to run in windows 8 compatibility and then I went to DPI settings and set it to application and I believed I clicked one of the other boxes there too and it worked just fine.

You can definitively hit 400, even as a solo player. Though you may want to make multiple characters to tackle different kinds of monsters (I did almost everything on crusader as an example, it being highly survivable with good enough damage). I wouldn't call it difficult either, mostly just a matter of time.

Skipping mvps that require a large party, thanatos, thors, bio3, you would still hit 400.
Keep in mind that MVPs might seem scary, but they get significantly easier to solo as you go along and build up your collection of tanky cards.

Finding a few dudes to team up with shouldn't be that hard either, especially for MVPs that are monster of the day.

I'm playing a Rogue, and while I've got good equips, 190 aspd, etc. I have found that just about every MVP has a "I win" button against me, whether it's a big attack that ignores flee, agi up, a mob of strong monsters that I can't get rid of with raid/magnum break, etc.

Rogue shouldn't have too many problems with low to mid tier MVPs. Use the magni set so you have high defense for when you do get hit. Don't sleep on having some amount of vit and hp boosting gear.

Use elemental armor against the element they hit the hardest with. If they stun, make sure to wear an anti stun hat since that will turn off your flee completely.

For agi up... well, I didn't play as rogue, but I relied on crit for those. Platinum shotel should help you a ton.

Fresh starts are fun. People are making new characters all the time, so there's leveling parties happening.
Common basics are in high demand, so people group for that too.
For ccRO in particular, same can be said for MVP cards.
There's just a lot of excitement and you get to actually experience the MULTIPLAYER part of an mmorpg.
And the sense of achievement and bonding as you become strong enough together to tackle increasingly harder, and rewarding, content.

While old servers are largely... grind by yourself. Need items? Buy them with zeny you farm yourself. Need something rare and hard to get? Farm A LOT of zeny, or give up on it. You don't really see parties form for this stuff. You're fighting an uphill battle trying to motivate people who already have everything, to do content with you that don't get them anything in return.

As the server ages people acquire what they feel is worth the effort, and then piss off, or sit idle in town all day using it largely as a chat room. A rare few hardcore min-maxers will be out grinding for a 0.001% increase in power and barely notice you exist. If you're lucky, you might get some freebies or a bit of help here and there.

But you sure as shit aren't coming home to parties every single day.

Reducing defenses is pretty vital in a lot of RPGs. Shit like stun, sleep and "death" are memes in JRPGs yes, but we're talking about normal debuffs here.

Bringing someone to an mvp party to have them poison/burn the boss to reduce their def/mdef would be cool. Reducing the ATK or specific elemental resistances would be cool too. It'd also open up different kinds of builds

Status immune bosses are more of a MMORPG problem than the standard singleplayer RPG. Crowd control effects like stun usually never work vs bosses for good reason, while status effects like poison/bleed and silence have basically streamlined into Damage over Time/DoTs and Cast Interrupts vs bosses. Stat debuffs are both the most meta-used effect and the least neglected everywhere.
That said, there's no reason RO shouldn't allow status effects vs bosses, but because the base game is so imbalanced there's no reason to bother to even use debuffs. I think ccRO alleviates some of this problem vs boss protocols but not MVPs. I could see CC effects working vs MVPs if RO was treated more like an ARPG to trigger a stagger bar. (maybe something for Doddler-type servers)

You have a class that normally doesn't get to use damage cards (runes) or have any aspd steroids.

But on ccro, by filling up your album, you get 15% property, 15% racial, and 4% size dmg.
10% aspd too. And this season, due to enchants, even more speed.

Meanwhile hunter is also excluded from flat atk bonuses and the size ones.

Asgard Legends was implementing a system similar to Dark Souls where every use of a status effect was an amount on applying it, and if you hit the cap it would apply the status, so it's doable on regular Ragnarok.

They're legitimately crazy powerful! Even if the example was something with a high elemental weakness the wizard could exploit, they would still fall short.

...Interestingly, SuNo actually manages to tie with Wizard, which is spamming not just a higher damage spell, but one without cast delay.
I forgot to screenshot gear+ stats, but both have instant cast and are using generic setups that benefit neither spell.

Despite being defense spec, the Ranker is still doing more than TRIPLE the damage of the Linker.
You can argue Linker isn't supposed to melee and shouldn't be compared to Ranker, but I think it's fun.

Dual Dagger isn't too far away, but is far, far squishier, and needs absolutely insane investment.
Sadly in a server without EDP, the Assassin simply can't compete.

The Holy Cross Crusader actually beats the ranker by a large margin.
But this is also using a two handed spear, so not only does it have less defense, but it's also lacking a shield rune.
Also note that Holy Cross does do a bit more damage than a Bash with a holy weapon would do.
So the target being a Frus is skewing this a bit.

100k Rapid shower was real, but it only worked on a single enemy. With high end GS gear (+7 altair & ares, buffalo combo, archer card set), armor piercing bullets, and cursed water for shadow enchant, a GS can do 100k to arc plasmas. A sniper at the same gear level can deliver at least 5 double strafes in the cooldown between rapid showers and achieve the same if not more DPS. There is lots of information that sounds bad when you misconstrue it and leave out vital details. But you already knew this. Please stop spreading false information to spread a narrative that doesn't line up with reality. And nobody cares about how vanilla a server is, even vanilla servers deviated from normalcy with god items and the introduction of cash shop headgears.
