Eclipses are obviously natural events, and I don't know if there's any significance to the Moon and the Sun being perfectly sized to cause total eclipses, but I've always thought they look just like a gigantic eye looking down from space, with a big black pupil surrounded by an iris

Maybe that's why people like them so much, they remind us of our own eyes
