I submitted a $3k offer to the seller and got a message that a higher offer had already been submitted, so I fomo'd and bought it for $4.5k.
So that's at least $3k less than the other one would have run me, without shipping. I'm going to pick it up on Monday or Tuesday. Wish me luck.
I'll probably be blogposting about it itt because I'm going to need some spoonfeeding. I'm no wrenchlet and I've done almost every sort of repair short of fully rebuilding an engine (at least not since I was 12 with my dad) but I've never actually made any significant modifications to a vehicle - just keeping them stock and fixing things. Stuff I know I'll need to do
>Tires
>Procure v8 + transmission
>Procure all the parts needed to get the engine installed with all the other bullshit needed to make it functional - brackets and such for power steering pump, a/c compressor, etc. I want to keep everything maximally functional since I plan to "daily" it (I really only drive 2-3 days a week because wfh)
>Cut a hole in the floor for the shifter
>Probably put a stronger rear end it in
In the long run I'll probably get it repainted and re-upholstered but that's low on the list. Mechanicals first.
