>Japanese is read so much faster and easier because of the Kanji compared to languages that use the latin alphabet that it's insane. Europeans like me have to learn speed reading techniquest to deal with the waste of space that alphabet is while Japanese adults scan a sentence incredibly quickly thanks to the kanji whose space takes one or more characters instead of a huge line of letters.
What is this nonsense? Can you prove any of the bullshit you just said?
Language is more than just the space it takes. Moving your eyes slightly further to read Latin letters is not as much of a burden as squinting to determine whether you're looking at 烏 vs 鳥, 辛 vs 幸, 未 vs 末, 休 vs 体, 帥 vs 師, 識 vs 職, 減 vs 滅, etc. This gets even more annoying with smaller fonts common in retro games that cause kanji to take on nearly unrecognizable forms. What gave you the idea kanji are easier to read just because they take less space?
And God forbid you try reading any of it aloud. Unlike simple Latin languages, the flow of Japanese is all over the place. For example "私達は潔くこの場を去る" = watashitachi ha isagiyoku kono ba wo saru". The first 1/3 of this sentence takes over half the reading time. And don't even get me started on kanji readings.
>躊躇 = chuucho
>躊躇う = tamerau
>相応 = souou
>相応しい = fusawashii
>利益 = rieki
>ご利益 = goriyaku
>大人気 = daininki
>大人気 = otonage (both adjectives, depends on context lmao)
and many many many more.
