i think the vessel being "discarded" and "no one can choose who they are in this world"
i think susie is not meant to be the hero in the prophecy, but noelle
the core message of the game will be "you can be whatever you want as long as you try hard enough" disproving dess's worldview, even if it means defying the game itself
i don't know dess's motivation for hijacking the prophecy and planting the soul in kris though, maybe she wanted to sabatoge the prophecy to cause the roaring and destroy the world and thought kris was the most unlikely to succeed
