If I remember correctly, it’s also based on LISA: The Pointless, so you have skills you can select from in between battles, status effects on enemy Monsters, combo dials for offensive skills, and more. There’s even a Deltarune Tension Point system, renamed the Bravery Point system, and you need a certain amount of BP to preform certain skills. You might still want to improve your drawing on the side though, a new skill is never a bad idea plus it might end up helping you some way in the future, you never know.

hey, as someone who also draws for fun (in fact deltarune reignited my passion for art and pixel art in general), my biggest advice is to just do what feels "right" and have fun with it. Because if we all drew "well" it would be repetitive and boring. I think a little bit of both would be best, there is nothing wrong with going wild in time to time and making messy stuff, that is beautiful too sometimes. But getting a better foothold in basics, as well as easing up your workflow is also good, if you dedicate your time to that. The very fundamentals is something I still struggle with, almost all that I learned was from repetition and seeing how others do it.
