I use the uptie stories as a basic Idea of what went through the Bloodfiend trio's mind when they betrayed Don Quixote.
Dulcinea
>Bloodfiends reduced to zoo animals/attractions. Children are suffering and dying (literally buried).
Nicolina
>Just wants blood, actively hates the carnival, uses her "game" as a way to vent her frustration and suffering on the others.
Curiambro
>Actively believed in the dream, was the happiest that the humans didn't see them as monsters anymore. Utterly demoralized, but the suffering of the family, losing their own mind to their hunger and self-flagellation.

Meanwhile Sancho and Don Quixote were actively enjoying the dream and thus had buried the feelings of hunger.
Honestly, I think Nicolina should have just became a tailor for human visitors. I think Dulcinea could have endured better if her children weren't suffering so, but I don't think she'd have ever been happy with the circumstances.
