I like a lot of the OCs introduced. Tangle & Whisper are fine and haven't been nearly as obnoxious in stealing the spotlight as many here would claim. The Bad Guys mini actually made Zavok kind of cool in making him more than just a nigga that wants to fuck shit up. The problem with the writing is that characters aren't allowed to develop and always reset back to their worst stupid selves because of status quo. I challenge you to find multiple examples of Shadow not acting like a retard and actively choosing to work with Sonic rather than against him. You can't. And whether that's Sega's fault, or Flynn's doesn't matter. Believe me. I want to like the IDW continuity. I want to enjoy fun adventures with Sonic and his friends, but they make it so fucking hard with how soulless and formulaic a lot of the smaller plots involving major characters tend to be.

At least the camping story had wholesome moments with Amy and the girls, but other than that everything has just been so fucking dumb.
