Well, I always buy the latest Yakuza slop and enjoy it a lot even though the stories themselves get dumber and dumber with every entry, even for Yakuza standards. The new Kiwami 3 look like shit in how they've replaced some of the character models but I'm going to be able to enjoy it as long as I can still play mahjong and beat people up. I'm anxious about seeing if they fucked with Andre Richardson but he has shown up in the newest games and looks normal so I don't think I need to worry.

The closest I get to that is maybe Ron Gilbert's new Monkey Island game that came out a while back and looked like a tampon commercial. I haven't played it. I don't need to. I had already laid Guybrush to rest after Telltale's Tales of Monkey Island, which was an improvement over Escape from Monkey Island but still just okay.
