Now, "doing elves justice" is a topic that I have problems with. Maybe you are expecting too much. Not every player has a degree in anthropology, or knows the skaldic verses by heart. Or whatever you need to do to "do them justice".
Some players just want to play an elegant magical but conveniently humanoid fantasy creature, or whatever their powerfantasy is.
Are you asking your dwarf players to "do them justice" as well? It's overall really subjective what that even means.

If your players just play them as dumb stereotypes and caricature, then I can understand it.
