It'd be fairly easy to address some of p2's glaring problems with better pacing, giving the characters some more bonding moments on screen than just off screen, having Asa/Yoshida kill some scrub Devils, etc.
Not saying it'd turn into a masterpiece but it'd probably be enjoyable enough. Especially if Fuji can cook up a half decent ending.
