The first three Mass Effects (Especially the first one) had such great character development. The characters were so mature, so complicated, you could feel the weight of their life's experiences and adversities.

The characters in Andromeda come across as low-IQ high school dingbats grew up in an upper class life of privilege. The came across as shallow trust fund babies who one day decided to LARP. At no point did the characters ever feel like they belonged in the setting. Andromeda is a gorgeous looking game but that is the only thing it got right. The characters, the acting, the modeling, the voices, the missions, the story, all of that is among the worst you could ever experience in a video game.

The biggest problem with ME: Andromeda is the writing. The character development is just terrible. It's as though Bioware hired dopey high school kids to do the writing. The characters are so dumb, shallow, and juvenile. It's like a "High School Musical 5: The Saviors of the Universe". The game is set in a time of existential war and yet at no point do you ever feel like these dingbat characters are capable of any kind of heroics. Visually, the textures are gorgeous and some of the landscapes are beautiful. The combat is okay but the whole game is ruined by the horrendously amateur and childish writing.

BioWare is a shit and always has been a shit. They are far worse now than they ever have been. Their development studio is absolutely overrun with gays, lesbians, and trannies. What is the point in comparing shit to shit. It's all shit. Avoid BioWare at all costs.
