I always thought the lore was that the armor distributes force evenly across the entire surface when hit so the stormtroopers that "die" in the movies are all actually just getting knocked out from the lethal impact being distributed across a wider area. I don't remember where I read this but it's in my mind for some reason, maybe I just made it up. Basically from what I recall it preserves the life of the individual but they still get taken out of combat.

The first three Mass Effects (Especially the first one) had such great character development. The characters were so mature, so complicated, you could feel the weight of their life's experiences and adversities.

The characters in Andromeda come across as low-IQ high school dingbats grew up in an upper class life of privilege. The came across as shallow trust fund babies who one day decided to LARP. At no point did the characters ever feel like they belonged in the setting. Andromeda is a gorgeous looking game but that is the only thing it got right. The characters, the acting, the modeling, the voices, the missions, the story, all of that is among the worst you could ever experience in a video game.

I'm going to discuss video games for a moment. I've been playing Outlaws, and it's actually better than I expected it to be. The writing is god awful, but I expected that. Not making an excuse, I just wasn't surprised by it. But the game is actually pretty good, if you can get past these types of goofy animations. The only glitch I've encountered so far is a storm trooper getting stuck in the ladder animation while he was walking around, but I know it was much worse at launch. It reminds me of the Mad Max game, which was way better than it had a right to be. I like that you can choose to work with or against the three crime families, and it affects how they perceive you inside their territories.
