I really couldn't say. But if I had to guess it's likely due to thinking this makes the games look more cinematic and we all know normalfags like cinematic experiences. And the games that bring arguably the most cinematic experiences don't even use this garbage tech or use them extremely well with nuance. Most games just plaster these effects all over and call it a day.

I still play co-op with friends but there's no way I'm touching matchmaking competitive horseshit games with fake ass progression systems (purely designed to get you hooked or induce FOMO) and skin buying jewery. Never turn on offline mode neither. Online games nowadays are purely designed around engagement, skill ceilings are lowered across the board for the sake of microtransactions (wouldn't want players dropping out) and everything is designed to be as flashy and twitchy as possible to get you to buy skins. Long gone are the days of smooth, intricate movement and shooting systems with carefully constructed maps. It's all low TTK twitchy ADS gameplay from here on out. Some exceptions still remain but they are exceedingly rare.
I'm willing to bet you have a racing gayming chair and a rig full of RGB cancer too, summer child.

PC gayming is a lot more involved and open. It's great having options when it comes to performance/fidelity. Not to mention you can mod the fuck out of a lot of games. Best controls too and being able to attach any controller under the sun to your system (thanks for the support, Gaben) is just the chefs kiss.
Consoles are so restricted and you have access to a fewer games, full conversion mods and emulation.

But then again, consoles are plug and play while PC requires a bit of fiddling until you get everything perfect in most games. It depends on personal taste but PC simply brings a lot more to the table.
Welcome to the master race, anon.
