Yeah the samurai-wanking was all pre-Wano. When we actually got to Wano, it wasn't really wanked that much at all. The Scabbards were the only remotely strong samurai, and they all were maybe like Franky or Brook tier on average. The cat and dog were like the strongest ones and weren't even Wano natives. Pretty sure Denjiro, Ashura and Kinemon were the strongest nips in the entire country, and they'd all get trashed by Sanji or Zoro, which to be fair still makes them stronger than most countries.
The samurai hype were replaced by the Giant viking hype anyway, with Oda making the Scandinavian country the strongest in the world.
