Linux vros, how is it going for you guys? Is shit playable on your end, or you just default to windows for VR?
Sometime ago I've tried to setup Envision with WiVRn, LH drivers and OpenComposite to check how it's going so far. And I can only report it's pretty disappointing for mixed hardware (skill issue ig?).
Calibrating different playspaces are not hard per se but the way motoc handles continuous calibration is weird, from what I got is that it doesn't calibrate continuously, but calibrate once and tries to enforce that offset continuously, which ended up with constant weird corrections on my end, and yes my tracker is somewhat tightly attached to my hmd, doesn't wiggle just by moving it around.
My trackers and index controller have a weird compensation that makes them move out of place just by rotating them, my guess is some sort of over prediction, index con were the worst, just by rotating my wrists the whole controller kinda flew around.
Didn't even bother much with ALVR, Monado ends up having a slight upper hand at performance against SteamVR and no spacecal.
Some other shortcoming for people considering this are: no binding menu, just files to edit; no overlay other than wlxoverlay and (expected) worse performance.
Someone tried running Monado recently with native hardware to see how it goes?
