No. It’s not the thickness and not about natural vs unnatural casing. It’s about the machines that hose the filling into the casing. Honestly I forget which is which, but some machines pump the filling in straight and some do it in a spiral sort of way. And that’s what makes the cupping happen or not happen. 30-40 years ago the machines changed so the pepperoni would all be flat for consistency.
