It's a character's race being flavor-text, same way Hugo is a "Vampire" but he barely actually does anything vampires do. That and they're probably trying to ape off that one octopus-girl vtubers design. But also they're too lazy to animate actual monstergirls so normal human women with props glued to their butt is the best you're gonna get.
