You actually have a point insomuch as some modern media do have a clear agenda. See Joker sequel being written specifically to antagonize its perceived audience. See most "woke" or DEI checkbox media that throw a bunch of ugly stereotypes meant to appease various more or less obscure groups (but not really successfully doing so) and then gaslighting its audience that they're bigots for instinctively reacting negatively to it.
But mostly touch grass, sometimes it really is just about kissing the pretty dolly and its just meant to be a wholesome and fun fantasy.
