If they were serious with the momo plot, there should have been a significant improvement and struggling arc (in senshado) for momo. Momo should have made improvements step by step and eventually proved herself becoming a good athlete independent from the rest of oarai, and prove herself worthy of the scholarship. However none of that happened and the whole pointless momo drama was nothing really more than a poorly written excuse to make oarai compete again.
At a moment this late if they introduce Momo's sudden awakening out of the blue, or force her drama to an extent, that's only going to ruin the films further.
By df4 I dont think momo is even supposed to be actually improving in senshado, and shes really nothing more than an excuse.
If they force bullshit even further that will only cause fans get a sour taste from gup and leave.
I believe the gup staffs at least have the common sense to not make them nose dive their own franchise.
