Banks create inflation by lending for consumtive purchases. Cars, homes. HELOCs,etc. And what controls how much banks can lend? Reserves. Your bank accounts. Thanks to fractional reserve lending, the money you keep in your bank is amplfied 30x to fuel inflation. If everyone kept their money in the form of cash or gold, banks would be unable to generate as much inflation via lending, because they wouldn't have the reserves.
